Speech, language and communication support

As part of Kent’s Balanced System®  transformation,
we’re improving access to speech, language and communication support for children and young people.

Families with young children can attend Talking Walk-ins at Family Hubs, and most schools now have a link speech and language therapist for advice and support.

Find out more about speech, language and communication support on the KCC website. Or contact slcn@kent.gov.uk for any queries.

Would you like to help support children with speech, language and communication needs?

Kent’s Family Hubs are looking for volunteers to work alongside trained staff to support young children and their families. This rewarding role involves helping to deliver fun, engaging sessions that build communication skills, confidence and early language development. It’s a great opportunity to make a real difference in your community, gain experience, and support children to get the best start in life. You can apply here:
