Miss Burdett was honoured to receive an award for ‘Best Initiative to Encourage Speaking and Listening Skills’ at the Kent Literacy Awards on 21st June 2016.

Miss Burdett was honoured to receive an award for ‘Best Initiative to Encourage Speaking and Listening Skills’ at the Kent Literacy Awards on 21st June 2016.  This award celebrates the creative teaching of literacy through the use of texts, which is an initiative introduced throughout the school by Miss Burdett.  The award particularly celebrates the speaking and listening opportunities’ experienced by the children in Year 6 when studying Pig Heart Boy by Malorie Blackman with Miss Burdett.
