Kew Gardens Trip - October 2019
The Year 6 children visited Kew Gardens to see the Chihuly exhibition. They were gathering inspiration ready to complete their own Chilhuly sculptures that will be exhibited by St.Mildred’s Church.
Over the course of five decades, Chihuly has explored new and old techniques, pushing the boundaries of contemporary art. He draws inspiration from the world around him, creating statements using colour and form to capture the imagination, and catapult beyond conventional ideas of function and beauty.
We were amazed by the scale and beauty of the sculptures we saw and the children were truly inspired
