Orangutan and Turtle classes are very much looking forward to their topic this term. South East Asia is a fascinating part of the world. Over the coming weeks the children will be learning about
plus much more.
We are pleased to announce the Federation is a key partner of the Food Champion Programme. Thank you to our pupils, parents/carers and staff for their ongoing support in achieving our healthy eating initiatives.
Welcome back, we hope you have had a wonderful summer and we look forward to an exciting term.
This week is Transition Week! An exciting week getting to know your new teacher and your new teacher getting to know you.
Mrs Croucher our Catering Manager has created a delicious menu for our Sports Week.
Welcome back everyone. Don't forget the weather can be changeable this term, so coats and sun cream and sun hats will all be required.
We have a busy term so keep an eye on Class Dojo for more detailed information.
Thank you to those parents and carers who have sent their children in with healthy packed lunches as part of our updated Food Policy.
As a reminder, crisps should only be included in packed lunches on a Friday. This decision was taken as part of our Food ChampionProgramme and an awareness from the British Heart Foundation that eating one packet of crisps per day can add up to drinking 5 litres of cooking oil per year!
CLOSURE UPDATE
SCHOOLS ARE NOW CLOSED
We are so very sorry - we tried today but the risk for drivers etc is too great.
We intend to be closed tomorrow due to forecast unless there is another dramatic turn around.
Once again sincere apologies.
The junior school is closed today Wednesday 28th February. Stay warm and safe.
I am sorry to say we have made the decision to close the school today.
I don't make this decision lighty as I know how important it is for children to be in school and for parents to be able to get to work. But I have looked at the forecast and it is predicting further snow and temperatures between -6 and -8 degrees. If we managed to get some staff and children in my worry is we might not be able toget everyone home safely. It boils down to keeping everyone safe.
I have been in communication with other Headteachers and school staff since 5am this morning and a number are reporting heavy snow and difficult road conditions.
Its a tough decision to make. Take care, wrap up warm
