Speech Bubbles – a program that helps children communicate, play, learn and feel good about themselves.

We were very lucky to be selected as a school for a funded place, by KCC, to participate in the Speech Bubbles program for the 2022-23 year. We are hopeful it will be able to run again next year.

Speech Bubbles uses weekly storytelling and story acting sessions to help Year 1 and Year 2 children develop their confidence and communication skills in a fun and creative way. The program is for children who lack confidence, including children who are selectively mute and those with English as an additional language. Children who have difficulty organising their thoughts and then communicating them, including children who may not respond appropriately to what is being said. And children who have poor attention and listening skills, including children with a low level of engagement with classwork and difficulty developing positive peer to peer relationships.
