The Balanced System for Schools & Settings – supporting SLCN

As a school, we are currently on the Balanced School Systems journey. The Balanced System for schools is a whole school approach to improving outcomes for children and young people across the range of SLCN. The scheme has been created in response to demands from schools for a strategic approach to understanding SLCN. The system allows us access to tools, mentor support and peer support to ensure we are making the best of resources to support SLCN across the school for all children as well as those with specific needs. The Balanced System works across five strands. These are Family support, Environment, Workforce, Identification, Intervention

The Balanced System Scheme for schools provides a clear development pathway to help schools audit existing good practice, plan against identified outcomes, and then implement a development program.
